Wisconsin Authors and Illustrators Win Outstanding Awards

Congratulations to the following Wisconsin Authors and Illustrators who were just named Award winners by The Children’s Book Award Committee of the Wisconsin Library Association’s Youth Services Section for 2015.

Crystal Chan wins the 2015 Elizabeth Burr/Worzalla Award for her children’s novel, ‘Bird’. Published by Atheneum Books           for Young Readers.

Ann Bausum* is named the Notable Author for 2015 in children’s literature and also wins a 2015 Outstanding Achievement       in children’s literature award for her book, ‘Stubby the War Dog: The True Story of World War I’s Bravest                               Dog. Published by National Geographic Children’s Books.

Thelma Lynne Godin also wins a 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Literature Award for her book, ‘The Hula               Hoopin’ Queen’. Published by Lee & Low Books.

Tom Lichtenheld also wins a 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Literature Award for his illustrations in the book,

‘This Is a Moose’. Published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

Julie Mata* also wins a 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Literature Award for her children’s novel, ‘Kate                  Walden Directs: Night of the Zombie Chickens’. Published by Disney Hyperion.

Deborah Underwood also wins a 2015 Outstanding Achievement in Children’s Literature Award for writing her picture               book, ‘Here Comes the Easter Cat’. Published by Dial Books for Young Readers.
